Automatic Liquid Weighing Systems

Automatic line for filling and capping pharmaceuticals into vials.
Pharmaceutical products, because of their constituent ingredients, often require special precautions during the dosing and packaging process. Many of these precautions will be associated with the filling phase of the product vial, which would require the product to pass through the dispenser and contact the equipment with the product. Likewise, at other stages of the filling line, requirements arose, mainly related to the protection of the product from contamination.

Pharmaceuticals require the use of sanitary and hygienic filling equipment, as well as the food and beverage industry. This is not surprising given that both of these industries provide products for human consumption that will be swallowed. Sanitary fittings are used on pharmaceutical filling machines to ensure that the product does not become contaminated as it passes through the filling line, on its way to a bottle or other container. The fittings have a smooth surface that prevents product build-up, facilitates cleaning and protects against leaks and external contamination. Stainless steel is popular for sanitary fittings as it will not rust or corrode most foods. For chemically aggressive products, other types of hygienic fittings are also used.

Often, peristaltic pumps are used on the filling line for pharmaceuticals and antiseptics, which are known for their property of not contacting the poured drug with pump parts; the drug is pumped through the tube by squeezing it. Peristaltic pumps provide a quick and easy tube change procedure, allowing you to use different ingredients or products throughout the day without the lengthy and complicated rinsing process.

The filling line is specially designed for pharmaceutical products and has some features. Almost every pharmaceutical line includes areas for rinsing and sterilizing containers. In these areas, various rinses or sprayers are used to clean the inside of the bottle before dispensing the product. Rinses and blowers remove dust, debris and other build-up from inside the bottle to protect the product from contamination. Some lines even create a vacuum in the bottle in addition to the air rinse to ensure the containers are hygienically clean.

Closing machines for pharmaceutical lines usually include standard types of equipment. However, there may be additional components or functions, for example, for installing protective caps for children and various security seals.

These are some of the most common areas found in pharmaceutical and antiseptic filling lines, but new technologies will undoubtedly lead to new innovations and opportunities in pharmaceutical packaging machines. For example, smart packaging is a new innovation that allows certain types of drugs to have packaging that helps keep track of when pills are taken and at what dosage. Packaging innovation will undoubtedly lead to innovation in packaging machinery, which in turn will lead to a safer and healthier future for all.

The automatic filling line includes:
- intelligent control system for the filling and capping line DOZA+,
- bubble feeding conveyor,
- peristaltic two-channel pump dispenser with two-stage filling of the drug (to reduce foaming),
- installation module and vial cap capping module,
- a conveyor for supplying bubbles to the finished product area.
